Christmas is coming and so is black Friday if you want to get some food deals. Here are some of Rhys’ favourite toys (with links) to give you some ideas to write on the list to Santa.
Gonge Carrousel: It's expensive, but is the best-engineered piece of equipment I have ever seen. My son spins daily, providing sensory input that allows him to keep regulated. https://amzn.to/3R5LtUl
Bubble Timer: A great gadget that can be used anywhere. The bubble timer is a great calming toy and something that can be thrown into a bag or carried around easily. https://amzn.to/40JqyJQ
Toniebox: I don't think the makers of this product realised that they were actually creating something that could be so widely used for those with communication difficulties. My son loves The Gruffalo, and Tonie has all the Julia Donaldson stories. The creative Tonies mean we can put Rhys’ favorite music onto an object that he can use to play his songs. Have a look at the different colour options and bundles. https://amzn.to/47Ehx75
Puzzles: Puzzles are great for learning and interaction. Gant has a range of different puzzles and we have many of their products. This large alphabet puzzle is one Rhys comes back to all the time. https://amzn.to/3sx4LIR
Marble run: Rhys got his first marble run for his third birthday, and although we have had to buy hundreds of replacement marbles over the years, the main product is still going five years later. A marble run is great for developing so many skills, from engagement to fine motor skills and problem-solving skills. It is also great for sensory input. https://amzn.to/3unazVI
Books: If you follow our story you will know all about the love for Julia Donaldson and her stories. We have all the paperback books, but because of their overuse, the pages have torn and the books have become easily damaged. That's why we now have the hardback board books. They are heavier but great for constant use. https://amzn.to/3MPot9y
Domino train: This Domino train is great for the whole family. You load up the dominos and switch on the train to let it lay them out ready for your child to push them over. I find it so therapeutic as it moves across the floor. https://amzn.to/46npVXI
Magic tracks: Magic Tracks are so easy to set up, and with the dark evening you can get so much more use of their light-up feature. I did find that the cars are a little flimsy (so be careful) and batteries will run out quickly (so get yourself a pile of rechargeable ones). But besides the issues with this product, it has been a staple in our house over the years (even if we have had to get a few replacement cars). https://amzn.to/3G4waES
