Happy New Year and a move into 2023. I do love a new year, it gives me a new start and a reflection on what I really want to achieve. It is like a major boost Monday (even though it is Sunday today) where I am elevated and ready to go.
So I encourage you all to think of what you don’t like about yourself, your life, or your routine and just make some simple small changes that will amount to large accomplishments and make you feel like a better you. The power is in your hands.
I have started my day with a major tidy-up to clear my mind, also making sure that I have had a healthy start to my food after a week of cheese and all the carbs. Then I sat down to work out how I can do more this year, for the amazing community I have created (that’s you that I am talking about :-) )
Last year brought you this Newsletter which is a free update direct to your inbox, and I really hope it has allowed me to ensure that posts and messages, that have been hidden by the social media algorithm, come to you directly. In 2023 I have more exciting ideas to continue to help other families, like mine, who are struggling without the knowledge of autism and communication.
One of the most exciting things I am so keen to get out to the big world, is my book. I have been typing constantly over the festive period (that’s probably why my social media channels have been a little slack?), but I have managed to complete half of the book in draft, with the second half planned and just needing the words to support it. I have some great ideas for how I will be sharing the story of my autism parenting journey, so hang in there and watch out for communications in a few months’ time.
lastly, in April I will be attending the BAPs Awards Evening as a finalist for the “Post with the Biggest Impact”. This evening was postponed (from August) due to train strikes and an increase in covid rates in the area, but I am now really excited that Justin and I will be able to go off on a lush night out, all glammed up with our dancing shoes ready for a boogie.
So keep posted, and thanks for continuing to support A&Me and our story.

It is always difficult to find time to do everything or even just the items we have prioritised. I always try to find ways to multiple-task (not multi-task), this means taking an activity and getting two (or more) benefits out of it. For example, going for a run with a friend will allow you to get your exercise in while also socialising with a mate.
The below video uses this method, in commuting to a new destination and seeing what engagement methods we could use while driving.
Popular Posts from the Week
Facebook: The visit from Santa was our most exciting part of last week. We have changed every year to work out the best way for Rhys to see the jolly chap, see post here.
Instagram: Siblings are often the most exciting element of a family, but it is hard when they have to be separated. I think we are trying a corner over here.
Twitter: If there is one goal to aim for this year, it would be to find your tribe. Find other parents who are going through the same things as you are, it will mean so much to you when you can share your hard. Read post here.
Coming Up Next Week …
I am back to work, but the kids are off school for another week, so it will be juggling priorities, and counting down the days until the routine is back. I cannot wait for it to be normal routine again.
